May 4th; May 4th will be the day when the next installment in the Spider-Man saga continues!! I just finished watching the 7 1/2 minute preview of the movie and let me be the first to inform you that IT IS AWESOME!!!!!
(*spoilers ahead, you were forewarned*)
Yeah, so it starts off with Mary-Jane and Peter lying on a giant spider web professing their love for each other...yeah yeah yeah, ya gotta throw in the romance...we get it. It's nothing terribly spectacular. So then the clip switches to Peter showing up at his Aunt May's house where he reveals that he wants to propose to Mary-Jane (seriously, can this get any more cutesy? Maybe we should throw in some fuzzy animals just for the heck of it). The actress who plays Aunt May is AMAZING!!! She really is SO good. She does Aunt May the due respect she deserves and really brings the character to life. Yeah, so Aunt May gives Peter her engagement ring after telling the story of how Uncle Ben had proposed to her and tells Peter to make it something memorable. YAY! *ends warm fuzzy feelings* Its now smackdown revenge time. Booyah! So Peter is still full of happy thoughts (enough to make him fly WITHOUT pixie dust in Neverland) when out of nowhere Harry shows up as the Green Goblin and proceeds to throw Peter around the skyscrapers of New York. Seriously, if they were normal people, they would have been dead within the first ten seconds. Blood and pain ensue. Peter almost looses the ring but it is luckily recovered. YAY! And the New Green Goblin suit and glider are SPIFFTACULAR. If I were a glider, I would want to look like that. Mmhmm. LOVE. <3. The rest of the 7 1/2 minutes are spent in random clips that go too fast for anyone to fully comprehend them all without watching them 10 bajillion times or going back frame by frame. There is the sandman, Venom (who leaps out of nowhere and scares the whatever out of me) and Peter and MJ swinging around New York where they inevitably are in danger and face peril to the main protagonists of the plot. Finally at the end there are very large letters which say "MAY 4TH" and this fil is not yet rated. It will probably be PG-13 for intense action sequences. INTENSE ACTION SEQUENCES.
(*end spoilers*)
Yeah so the movie looks like it will be really good, despite the digital look of some of the action and wierd facial expressions supplied by Toby Maguire. You should all go see it. In fact I recommend you go to the theater on opening day in full costume. Release your inner Geek. You know you want to.
