Seussical the Musical

hello, hello all of you!
All of you from here to there,
All of you without a care.
Step right up and read this post;
the one you know you'll love the most!

How to tell you've been spending too much time thinking about Seussical:
Step 1: Begin rhyming in everyday conversations without meaning to.

I began rehearsals this week for Seussical the Musical. It is being performed at my high school by a bunch of really talented 9th and 10th grade students in the Music and Theater conservatory. They really have taken this play and run with it. It's such a high energy production that even I get tired watching them (and all I'm doing is taking notes!). So I came into this production expecting it to be really corny and not that great but I was pleasantly suprised after watching the first run through! The cast is so fun to be around, and I'm slowly working on learning all of their names. I feel like part of a big family though. There are several of them that I love. The girl who plays Mrs. Mayor, or Chantelle, tackled me today in a hug since I drew her a picture and the Cat in the Hat, Matt (woah it rhymes...), makes fun comments to me in the middle of a scene. It's quite entertaining.

The only downside to having so much Seussical in my life (besides lack of sleep from homework overload) would be that I have now found myself rhyming in everyday conversations. I woke up this morning and got my foot stuck while sitting in the car on the way to school. I literally said, "My foot is stuck. I'm losing my shoe! Oh what a muck, what ever shall I do?" Then it hit me...seussical has corrupted my soul. It wasn't only a one time occurance either, I've been doing it ALL DAY! It's amusing yet annoying at the same time. Dr. Seuss has implanted himself into my brain. I'll be singing these songs for weeks.

...So tell yourself how lucky you are.

I'm coming with the Pittlucks to come see it. Sounds like it should be fun!
The everyday rhyming sounds entertaining, but I could see how it could get old after a while.. ;)
